Sergio Silvetti

Vet Exotics. Cert A (ZM) MRCVS DVM

Sergio was born in Novara, in the North West of Italy and qualified at the university of Milan in 1999. His passion for exotic animals started when he was very young, curious about the different species and their anatomy/biology.Sergio has volunteered and worked in Zoos and Wild Animals Rescue Centres in Italy and Gran Canaria and Costa Rica.

Sergio moved to the UK in 2010 where he worked in 1st opinion and exotics referral hospitals where he has worked with a extensive variety of Zoological collections. Sergio continued to develop his professional skills and in 2016 gained his CertAVP in ZooMed and in 2017 the RCVS Advanced Practitioner Status in Zoological Medicine. With his wealth of knowledge Sergio regularly hosts lectures at BVZS and ICARE events and has written the Orthopaedic chapter in the BSAVA manual of Poultry Medicine and Surgery (due to publication).

Sergio is also fluent in English, Spanish and Italian and his in spare time enjoys travel, reading a good book or going to the pub for a nice beer.
