We do love a visit from Bertha, she came to see us at Manor Vets Exotics, Edgbaston as she woke up slightly earlier than usual from hibernation so we just wanted to make sure that everything was okay.

 

She had a full health check and is in fine form for 102!

 

 

Tortoise Hibernation

 

It is a common misconception that all tortoises hibernate in winter: some species of tortoise need to hibernate, some may or may not hibernate, and others do not hibernate at all.
