Exceptional care for your exotic pets in and around Birmingham
The exotics team are based in Birmingham, at our RCVS accredited Edgbaston clinic, which holds the prestigious Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund gold award. The team have years of experience treating exotic pets and also provide veterinary services for zoological collections and aquariums across the West Midlands. The Edgbaston clinic has been refurbished specifically to cater for the varying needs of exotics species and includes:
Exotic species are becoming more common as captive animals in the UK, and vary from traditional companion species such as rabbits and budgies, to highly complex and valuable working and exhibition animals like falcons and eagles.
Not only do these species have very different anatomy and physiology to domestic pets but they often have complex husbandry requirements and captive management can be a factor in many pathologies. Our team of vets are familiar not only with the veterinary management of exotics but have a wide range of personal experience in aviculture, herpetoculture as well as management and breeding of reptiles and exotic mammals.
Our Edgbaston branch has been furbished to the highest standard with purpose-built separate hospital wards for predatory and prey exotic species, designated isolation facilities and handling equipment designed to manage non-domestic species safely. On-site diagnostics allow rapid assessment and management of cases. Our veterinary and nursing staff are fully trained to deal with a comprehensive variety of non-traditional species including zoo species.
Manor Vets is a long established Small Animal Practice based around South Birmingham. Established in 2006 Manor Vets exotic pet service has expanded to include an experienced and committed group of exotic vets.
