Planning to take your dog, cat or ferret to Europe early in the New Year?
The UK government has applied to the EU commission to become a listed country post-Brexit. If they’re successful, very little will change to the current process of travelling to the EU with your dog, cat or ferret.
We don’t know for certain that the UK will become a listed country. If the UK were to become an unlisted country, the process for getting your pet ready for travel would become more complicated, and would certainly take longer – a minimum of 4 months.
In the event of the UK becoming unlisted, the process of getting your pet travel-ready would include:
