This is Monty the 2 year old Newfoundland. Monty visited our Colebrook Branch to check his weight on the scales.

Newfoundland's are known for being very large in size and having a very thick fur coat. Their coat is said to have an oily texture which gives a water resistant quality to it. In some places they are trained to rescue humans from water!

Monty is going to be a famous dog as he will be appearing on the next series of Dogs Behaving Badly with Graeme Hall. Keep a look out for him!
